So this semester has felt like I just got hit by a battering ram that I didn't see coming. At the moment I am in the second last week of uni before revision week, or swot vac week, and about head deep in assignments and course material I have yet to go through. The courses I am doing are all heavily assignment based with large workloads. So far at uni there has only been one maybe two of these courses in each semester that seem to take all the time out of the week but there are four this semester and I have most definitely learned to organise myself and my time efficiently this semester. It has been a juggling act the entire way through but a huge learning experience that will only benefit me in the long run.
Well besides from the large study workload I have been applying for vacation work over the summer. My focus has been on mining and energy companies because that is where I would really like to be when I enter the workforce. I would really love to gain the experience of applying the knowledge I have gained at uni and find out what it is really like working as an engineer. Unfortunately I haven't been accepted anywhere as of yet but I'll find something.
The opportunity to be able to use my 'spare' time over those 12 weeks between semester 2 and semester 1 towards my career is actually pretty exciting. I can't wait to get started (and for the uni semester to be over ;p).
